Presidents report July 2019

News Item

Yesterday’s extraordinary meeting was a big surprise to all of us, first of all the record amount of 90 members that turned up but even more so the extraordinary outcome of that meeting.                                                                                  As I said in my report, after 6 month searching, negotiating and trying to find a possible venue, we have not been able jet to finalise a satisfactory deal.                                                                                                                                From all the options we had, there are still two that we like to follow up into more detail. One is the possible move or merger with the Maltese club in Marsden Park and the other one is the Masonic Hall in Orchard Hills                                                                                                                                 The reason that we called this meeting was to find out if You, the members would support us in the relocation, and that was overwhelmingly confirmed at this meeting, as nine of our younger generation put up their hands to not only support our recommendation but to help out in any way and act as a shadow committee and stand for the board at our next A.G.M. This was the miracle we needed and I am convinced that with the knowledge and expertise of the young and the old together, there can still be a bright future for our club. Thank you all for attending and positive participating in the future of your club. We will do everything possible to make this relocation a success.  J. Joosten.

P.S. If you were not able to attend our special meeting, could you please fill out the following form and return it to the club. Thank You.
