Presidents Report May 2019

News Item

Presidents report May 2019.
As much as we would like to, we still have not find the right solution for our problems. There are more than one problem when you consider the fact that for years on end we were lucky to pay a very small rent that enabled us to open only one or two days a week.              If we would have to pay todays normal rent for the building we have we would need to be open for trading at least 4 to 5 days a week.             Just keep in mind that the majority of our regular volunteers would not be able to cope with such a workload.                                                                                     To aggravate the problem at hand even more, is that Jan Altena, the main importer of Dutch goods, is planning to retire next year.        This would mean that all Dutch clubs such as Wollongong, Neerlandia, A.T.V. and us could lose their main income if nobody will follow up on this.                                                                                                                                                                   It is therefore that we now are meeting and working together with as much Dutch organisations as possible as well as the Federation, to see what can be done. The problems are huge, but we have to stay positive to find the right solutions.
We will keep you informed.  J.   Joosten.
